The University of Adelaide

• Prof Losic completed PhD (2003) in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (Flinders University, Australia) as one of the first PhD in Australia in this field. After 3 years postdoctoral work at Flinders in 2007 he received ARC Research Fellowship (5 years) starting his independent research at University of South Australia (Ian Wark Research Institute). In 2012 he joined the University of Adelaide with his research group received ARC Future Fellowship. He established and led National first research program on graphene ARC Research Hub for Graphene Enabled Industry Transformation (2017-23) and currently co-lead the second program ARC Research Hub for Advanced Manufacturing with 2D materials (2022-27)
• He published +510 peer reviewed publications in leading journals and conferences including 4 Edited books, 30 book chapters, 400 journal papers, 80 conference papers, 120 conference abstracts and 11 patents. His research papers were highlighted with 20 journal covers and +29,000 citations (Google scholar) with h-index = 93 i-10 = 335. He presented More than 250 total presentations including 10 plenaries +35 keynotes, +60 invited, +50 contributing conference +100 invited seminars/lectures. He received +$30 M in research funding from National category 1 grants and industry completing +50 research projects, half involving industry with an outstanding track record in research translation (6 licensing technologies).
• He and his team established an exemplary track record in research, demonstrating a comprehensive approach encompassing fundamental, applied, and translational aspects across diverse scientific, engineering and biomedical disciplines with the creation of numerous novel nanocale materials, particularly in the realm of graphene. These materials have been instrumental in the development of innovative products, devices, and technologies applied for addressing pressing global challenges in environment, healthcare energy, agriculture and industry.

Dusan is a leader of the Losic Group at University of Adelaide, in the school of chemical engineering. He is deputy director of ARC Research Hub for Advanced Manufacturing with 2D Materials and former Director of ARC Research Hub for Graphene Enabled Industry Transformation (2017-2023).  He has received numerous awards for his nanotechnology work including, ARC Research Fellow (2007-2011) and Future Fellow (2012-2017).  Dusan’s multidisciplinary research interests cover a broad research topic in nanoscience and nanotechnology, involving bioinspired engineering of new nanomaterials, their properties and innovative applications for addressing most concerning problems in environment, health, energy and agriculture. He published over +500 peer-reviewed publications in world leading journals/conferences including: 4 books, 30 book chapters, +400 journal papers, 85 conference papers, +120 conference abstracts attracting 20 journal covers and over 29.000 citations.
